February-May 2002
TAFE :: Photography course

I undertook this course in order to build on the theoretical and practical skills I had been developing over the past coupe of years “in the field”.

Taught by Mark Lee of Arc Photographics, the 10-week course covered all aspects of intermediate and advanced photography; including history, theory, techniques, and composition, relating to a variety of subjects including several on-location workshops.

1996-1998
Griffith University :: Bachelor of Multimedia

The 3-year Bachelor of Multimedia degree was the first of its kind in Australia and remains the most in-depth and professionally-oriented currently available.

Going far beyond simple technical skills, it covers "all aspects of interactive multimedia design, theory and professional practice, with challenging individual and team projects linking to commercial situations". My external clients were ICE Media and Blake Dawson Waldron solicitors.

Upon completion in late 1998 (the first year of graduates), I was awarded the inaugural Multimedia Studies Medal and the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence.

1992-1994:
University of Adelaide :: Bachelor of Architectural Studies

The three year Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree is recognised as a rigorous introduction to the history, theories and professional issues associated with architectural design. I was awarded the RAIA state prize for architecture in 1993.

Whilst I later decided to pursue a career in digital media, the design principles, creative problem-solving, communication and team management skills I developed through this course have subsequently assisted me in many aspects of multimedia.
